Welcome!Tripfolio is a personal website documenting trips Ann and I have made, for our friends, family and those from around the world who stumble across it to see and enjoy. Beyond that, we hope that the site will provide exciting visual images and unbiased information on a wide variety of travel destinations for anyone researching a trip. Our travel vignettes hopefully will whet travelers' appetites for the featured destinations. These "folios" will also provide travelers with the facts they will need in deciding if the destination is right for them - if I actually get around to writing down all of that. You see, photography is fun for me, but writing can be too much like work! AnguillaIn mid-November, 2010, our planned vacation to St. Lucia was interupted when we found out, at the last minute, that most if not all the resorts in Soufrierre were closed in the wake of Hurricane Tomas. The parent company of the Jalousie Resort in St. Lucia also operates the new Viceroy Resort in Anguilla though, and through a helpful corporate manager and some quick flight changes, we were able to shift gears, and islands. Follow this link to find photographs of this beautiful resort, and other Anguilla resorts in the West End . Infinity pool at the Viceroy
London, Oxford and WindsorWe had a chance to finally see England in summer. Our previous trips had both been in December, so this June, 2010 trip gave us a completely different impression of the country. We took our niece Hannah, and placed emphasis on the theatre scene, museums and some very good restaurant selections. The England 2010 link will lead you to an extensive folio of photos from this fun trip. Beefeater at the Tower of London
Baltic and North Sea CruiseIn June and July, 2009, we were fortunate to take a 14 day cruise aboard the Holland American Line Eurodam to the Baltic Sea and North Sea. Follow this link to an extensive photographic "Tripfolio" of Copenhagen, Warnemunde, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinksi, Stockholm, Kiel (Lubeck), Oslo, Amsterdam and Dover. We couldn't have asked for better weather, and better traveling companions. This is the kind of trip that would be very, very difficult to take without doing a cruise. The Eurodam provided the perfect platform. Cathedral at Bad Doberan, Germany

Emerald Isle, NCIn October, 2009, we rented a house at the southern end of the Outer Banks of North Carolina, on Emerald Isle. The trip was notable for the company of good friends, the historic cities of Beaufort and New Bern, and some amazing sunsetx. Wine CountryThe long-awaited tripfolio of our October 2007 trip to Half Moon Bay, Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley and San Francisco, California is partially online. You can see Napa and Sonoma at this link. More to come soon. Greece, Croatia and TurkeyOur trip to Greece, Croatia and Turkey in April, 2006, was a wonderful combination of land tours in and around Athens, Greece and Istanbul, Turkey, with a ten day cruise of Croatia and the Greek Isles in between. This vignette can be found on the Greece, Croatia and Turkey page. Entrance to walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia
PeruOur October, 2005, trip to Peru was really two vacations in one. We first flew to Iquitos, Peru to board the Turquesa, on an Amazon cruise organized by International Expeditions. That very special trip was followed by visits to Lima, and then to the highlands of Peru to experience Cuzco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Egypt and JordanThe travelogue on our fascinating October 2001 trip to Egypt and Jordan, in the wake of the events of 9/11, can be viewed at the Egypt and Jordan link. We highly recommend this as a destination, and were very glad we had arranged our " private tour for two" through Cox and Kings. Tripfolio contributor dies after long health struggleLongtime Tripfolio supporter Yasha died recently of chronic kidney failure. Her uncomplaining (generally) acceptance of our extended absences, and willingness to accept a continually changing cast of cat sitters, made possible all of the memorable trips exhibited on Tripfolio. She made an outstanding contribution to this site. You can read more about her amazing life at Yasha's tribute site. Yasha
